The seventh, closing volume of the series places the middle of the 20th century in its centre. Five works in different styles have been recorded from four countries of Western Europe. Briefly, it contains a late-romantic English, a post-impressionist and an expressionist French, an early modern Dutch and a neo-classical German piece.
